The upcoming 14th of December, SoildiverAgro will celebrate a journey that will focus on the improvement of the potato production.

The main objective of this session, organized by Universidade de Vigo, is to show the results of the SoildiverAgro project that would help the transition into a more sustainable agriculture that improves the potato production in Galicia.

This activity is part of the multiactor strategy established at the beginning of the project. The aim with this is to encourage farmers and other interested parties to join the SoildiverAgro Community and contribute to the project.

The program will begin with the presentation of the project by David Fernández Calviño -the project coordinator- and will include the presentation of the book “Interactions between agricultural management and soil biodiversity: an overview of current knowledge”.

This will be followed by the presentation of the preliminary results of the project on Pest Alert Systems and the reduction of fungicide use, The use of mycorrhizal fungi as an alternative to conventional phosphorus fertilizers and increased production, and on Trap plants for the reduction of potato nematodes.
