kaire euls workshop

MTÜPK and EULS held a workshop for farmers about SoildiverAgro spore sampler case study

MTÜPK together with EULS arranged a workshop for farmers to introduce the results of the spore sampler case study. Dr. Kaire Loit from EULS presented the first-year results of accurate quantifications of airborne species in wheat and potato fields. The objective was to study the role of airborne inoculum on disease development in relation to climatic conditions and to find out the pesticides accumulation rate for no-till fields and its impact on soil fauna. Fungicide use plays an essential role…

Wheat sampling in the Continental region

In June 2021 at plant growth stage 39 (BBCH scale), colleagues of the project partners TI and FAR collected samples of soil, plants and litter in all treatments. Furthermore, sampling included soil microorganisms, nematodes, soil microarthropods and earthworms. These samples are part of case study 11,  Plant diversity is tested to promote soil intrinsic self-regulating processes and to enhance fungivorous soil fauna communities in wheat-cropping systems. First gas and soil sampling events in Finland

Our Finnish partners Luke and Tyynelä farm took the first gas samples for GHG determination on the 25th of May and the 8th of June, and the first soil samples on the 17th of June from Boreal pedoclimatic region in the field of case study 14b located in Tyynelä farm in south-Eastern Finland. The experimental field in case study 14b was established in the winter wheat field to study the effect of reduced tillage combined with direct sowing used in organic…

Soil sampling trip on SoildiverAgro Boreal case studies

SoildiverAgro boreal case studies in early potato fields continue studying the effects of catch crops and organic amendments on a soil sampling trip last week. The soil samplings of this experimental designs will be develop every autumn (most likely during September). Each year, the soil sampling will be carried out in the same date for three crop cycles. Case study 13: Increase of soil biodiversity through amendment of forest based organic material in potato crops (Finland)     Case study 15: Use…
