The  European Mission Soil Week  is an annual event aimed at promoting the Horizon Europe Mission 'A Soil Deal for Europe' (Mission Soil) raising awareness about the importance of soil health, and driving action to protect and restore our soils. This year's European Mission Soil Week, organised by the European Commission, is being held from 12 to 13 November in Brussels, Belgium.

To kick off this special event on November 12th, David Calviño, SoildiverAgro project coordinator, was invited to speak in one of the co-creation breakout sessions titled "Soil Health in Agriculture". David joined fellow researchers and soil health experts Vincent Tchedry, Susana Gaona Saez, Paola Migliorini, and Frederik Vilhelm Larsen to discuss key topics related to soil health.

During the session, they identified critical research gaps regarding soil health and its connection to agriculture. They also discussed how soil health baselines need to be adapted for different soil types. Lastly, they explored which tools and methodologies could be used to communicate the results of their research to end-users.

David’s contribution to this event continues to expand the vision of SoildiverAgro, furthering the transition toward healthy soils.
