The 5th edition of the LUKE & URCA Scientific Webinar Series will take place on January 16th, 2025, from 13:00 to 16:15 (CET). This year’s theme is ”Microbial Communities”, a topic that will explore the important role of soil microbes and their impact on agricultural ecosystems. The webinar is organized by our partners from the boreal region LUKE (Natural Resources Institute Finland) with the colaboration of URCA (University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne)

The event will be hosted on Microsoft Teams, and researchers, farmers, and anyone interested in soil science are invited to attend. Krista Peltoniemi, Senior Scientist and Boreal Region Coordinator at LUKE, will present her findings from the SoildiverAgro WP3 project in a talk titled ”About the Effects of Farming Systems on Soil Microbial Diversity and Community”. Her presentation will dive into the latest results on how different farming practices influence microbial life in the soil and, in turn, soil health and biodiversity.

This webinar will provide valuable insights into the microbial world that underpins agricultural productivity, sustainability, and soil health.
