The 2nd Spanish National Conference on Organic Agriculture was held at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) in Murcia, Spain, on February 25-26, 2025. Organized by the Council of Organic Agriculture of the Region of Murcia (CAERM), the event brought together researchers, agricultural professionals, government agencies, organic businesses, and technology experts to discuss key challenges in the sector, as well as to review and share updates on relevant regulations.

During the event, SoildiverAgro participated in the oral communication panels, where our partners Raúl Zornoza and Eva Lloret from UPCT presented some of the results from WP3 on soil biodiversity assessment in European cropping systems. These results were researched by our partners David Fernandez Calviño and María Jesús Iglesias Briones from Uvigo; Irene Ollio and Miriam Valverde Montoya from UPCT; Krista Peltoniemi , Sannakajsa Velmala and Visa Nuutinen from Luke; Merrit Shanskiy from EMU; Kristian Koefoed Brandt and Simon Bo Lassen from UCPH ; Lieven Waeyenberge from EV-ILVO; and Stefan Schrader from the Thünen Institute.

The conference provided a valuable opportunity for collaboration and knowledge exchange among experts from across the Spanish organic agriculture sector. SoildiverAgro is proud to contribute to the ongoing research efforts aimed at enhancing soil biodiversity and sustainable farming practices in Europe. We look forward to continuing our work with our partners to address the challenges facing the agricultural community.
