We are pleased to announce SoildiverAgro’s latest updates in the Nemoral Region. This December, the results of the SoildiverAgro project were presented at two prominent agricultural events in Estonia, showcasing the project’s contribution to advancing soil biodiversity and sustainable farming practices. Both events featured our partner, MTÜPK, who represented SoildiverAgro.
On December 5th, at the XV Soil Day hosted by the Estonian University of Life Sciences, over 100 leading soil experts, researchers, and practitioners gathered to discuss the latest developments in soil science. Roosi Soosaar, our partner from MTÜPK, presented the SoildiverAgro project results with two poster presentations, highlighting the critical role and benefits of soil biodiversity in sustainable agriculture and European agroecosystems.
On December 16th, the Estonian Chamber of Agriculture and Commerce, an organization representing agricultural producers and processors since 1996, hosted an Information Day focused on agricultural innovation. Roosi Soosaar delivered an engaging presentation on how the SoildiverAgro project has contributed to agricultural innovation in Estonia. She highlighted the project’s innovative use of spore sampling and weather data integration to predict grain disease risks, enabling farmers to apply fungicides in a timely and targeted manner. This approach minimizes unnecessary disease treatments, reducing the environmental impact of agriculture and enhancing ecological sustainability.
For those interested, Roosi Soosaar’s presentation slides (in Estonian) are available here, and a video presentation on the topic in English can be accessed here.
